WHAT IS EFT?

Emotional Freedom Technique is a powerful, evidence based, self-help tool to reduce stress. It is at the forefront of healing, working in gentle and effective ways to bring balance to the mind and body. Tapping ( EFT) allows you to change the basic patterns that underlie the ongoing health and emotional challenges in your life. It is a simple way to interrupt patterns, change limiting beliefs, resolve emotional hurts and painful memories.

Tapping on the emotional acupoints sends a message to your brain that it is safe to turn off the body’s defense system of flight, freeze or fight to a perceived traumatic event. After a session of EFT, the stress hormone cortisol may decline as much as 24%. EFT activates the body’s relaxation response, allowing the body’s function to return to normal, and in doing so, assists the healing process.

Can EFT clear trauma and PTSD?
For the purpose of having a fundamental understanding of the complex nature of trauma, it is defined as any event, real or imagined, that left you feeling overwhelmed, alienated, shocked, powerless or trapped.

The traumatic event is held in an energetic capsule. It feels as if a part of yourself has been cut off or buried, in an attempt to keep you safe. Our thought processes at the time become fragmented and disorganised. These bits of the memory are stored as snippets of sensations, images and disrupted time. Your autonomic nervous system may shut down sensory overload and you’re left feeling numb. Yet all the distorted details of the traumatic event: all you saw, heard, smelled, felt and tasted is sealed up inside the capsule and stored in the body and Energy Matrix.

It requires enormous energy to suppress the information held in the capsule. Stress happens at the expense of our immune system function and creates ill health. Contracted energy or unresolved trauma causes inflammation and disease in the body.

Tapping is a gentle technique that defuses the intensity of triggering moments. It processes trauma by releasing the emotional charge. EFT appears to affect the amygdala, the stress centre in the brain. ​Tapping is the body-based language that communicates a new message of calm to the emotional centre of the brain.

WHAT IS MATRIX RE-IMPRINTING

‘All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force. We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent Mind. This Mind is the Matrix of all matter.’ ~ Max Planck 1944.

This idea of a field of energy that connects all things is easiest understood as a thread of connection, or a web, that links us all to each other and the broader universe. We communicate with this Source field with the language of emotion.

The Field is like a container and mirror for our beliefs.  

The process of Matrix Reimprinting (MRI) was created by Karl Dawson. The technique was birthed from EFT and offers a range of protocols to release trauma, change beliefs and produce life-changing outcomes. Matrix Reimprinting is an empowering technique for the client and supports them to release emotional pain and suffering. 

Our truest beliefs about who we are, are mirrored in our most intimate relationships. MRI locates the root cause of much suffering that occurred before the age of six or seven. Core wounds of abandonment, lack of trust and feelings of not being good enough are gently healed in the Field.  

The key to change is to make a small shift in the way we view ourselves in the world.

DOES IT MATTER WHICH HAND I USE TO TAP?

No. You can use one hand, either hand or both hands on the sides of your face at once.

WHAT PARTICULAR STYLE OF EFT DO YOU USE?

Yes, my main method is the one used at Bond University in QLD for clinical trials and research.

WILL I KNOW WHEN I’M STRESSED?

Most of us are suffering from constant stress & really aren’t aware of how stressed we are until we hit crisis point. You will build a new relationship of care & awareness over the course of our sessions together. Tapping increases your mindfulness of ‘stuck’ or constricted energy in your body.

WHAT ARE THE MAIN CAUSES OF STRESS?

Everyone’s ability to process difficulties is different. Many causes of stress are our environments, poor sleep, unhealthy relationships, physical pain, poor eating and exercise habits, financial difficulties, unexpected diagnosis and unresolved emotional issues from the past.

WHEN IS IT ADVISABLE TO SEE A CERTIFIED PRACTITIONER?

Even though EFT is a self-applied stress reduction tool it is important to have the support of a trained practitioner if you have been suffering from emotional stress and symptoms over a prolonged period of time. 

 

CAN EFT BE USED TO DIAGNOSE, TREAT OR CURE A DISORDER OR DISEASE?

No. I am not a Mental or Health Professional. If symptoms persist it is imperative that you seek qualified medical assistance.

WHAT IS A LIMITING BELIEF

In general these are unwanted, negative beliefs that run at a subconscious level and sabotage personal success and happiness. Core issues and limiting beliefs feel true, are unconscious often arise from a significant and overwhelming situation of feeling completely powerless and unsupported. These conclusions are statements about our essential essence of being:  “I am unworthy of love.’ The limiting beliefs serve as proof “ I will never find a partner.”  

​ A limiting belief is a ‘false’ or disempowering belief, that often originates from a core wound event or experience in childhood. The belief is the meaning you made, often as a child, about yourself as a result of the situation. These beliefs condition our mind and heart with limitation, sabotaging your true potential and negatively impacting all your future relationships.

WILL I LEARN HOW TO USE EFT ON MYSELF?

Yes! I will teach you how to self-apply this stress reduction technique so you can use it anytime you feel triggered, stress or tight in your body.

DO I HAVE TO GET THE WORDS CORRECT?

No. The simple EFT tool of ‘Tap & Breathe’ is one of the first techniques you will experience with me. I use this in my sessions to assist you to feel anchored and safe in your body. Think of ‘Tap & Breathe’ as your emergency posture. It’s versatile and extremely effective to calm your aroused nervous system. 

DO I HAVE TO SAY THE WORDS OUT LOUD?

Yes if possible, as it keeps you focused on the issue and engages more of your senses.

DO I NEED TO DRINK WATER?

Yes. Sipping water not only keeps you healthy and hydrated, it sends a calming signal to your nervous system. Also a hydrated body responds well to the tapping signal.

WHAT DOES EFT TARGET?

Tapping is not a diagnostic tool. It specifically targets the felt sensations of pain, stress and anxiety in the body. It is useful to resolve annoying, repetitive thoughts and limiting-beliefs that are not serving you. EFT targets the mind/body connection.

HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS LAST?

Tapping works with quickly with a range of issues. Clinical trials reveal the results are sustained three and six months after a block of sessions.
